Compassion instead of Judgment

When we have been hurt, how do we hold self respect and boundaries, but also compassion instead of judgement? If we dig our heels into how different and better we think we are from others, we are not open to learning about our own capacity to harm. If we can instead work to find compassion for what others may experience, we connect more with their humanity, and our own. Self righteousness and judgment are rooted in colonist ways of being. How might we call ourselves back into compassion for ourselves, one another and for all of the earth?
