Lessons of Letting Go
Sometimes we believe that holding on to ways we were harmed in the past can protect us from being hurt again. But that also has the impact of eating away at us from the inside. When there is silence or shame surrounding others’ harmful actions, those who cause harm are removed from having to take accountability. Often those who are harmed internalize the hurt as though they are somehow at fault.
Just like trees in autumn, we can be reminded to let go of what needs to be released inside us. The harms of others were never ours to being with, they say more about the person passing on wounds than they do about the person the behaviours are directed at. We can evolve the healing energy from the place of being hurt and choose to pass on something different.
As we move through seasons of change, we can learn to release energy that stifles us, and the world can witness beauty as we do. May this season’s leaves remind you that letting go can be a freedom that lives inside you and a gift to many.
We do not need to forget the impact of the wounds, and we can cold healthy distance and protection from those who repeatedly cause harm. And we can learn to release the hurt that lives inside of us.
Blessings from the release of the falling leaves.
Sincerely,
