Group Supervision

Melissa Clews-Hunt

Drawing from the foundation of systemic therapy, I integrate ecotherapy in my clinical supervision approach. Ecotherapy clinical group supervision is an opportunity to come together as concerned therapists, to support one another as we help our clients, and to inspire ways of responding to the earth crisis of our time.

Healing Spaces Therapy: a group of therapists connecting in a group supervision session.

Ecotherapy Group Supervision for Therapists

Ecotherapy group supervision meetings can take place outdoors or virtually. We integrate nature based experiential exercises to benefit your wellbeing and that you can offer to your clients. Many of our clients are experiencing concerns about climate change, eco anxiety, eco distress, or uncertainty about the future. In the ways we invite clients to heal relationships, we can draw on our unique stance as therapists to create a wider healing in our relationship with the earth.

As a clinical supervisor I offer a space that is warm, strength based, and systemic. I aim to support each therapist to deepen your own unique clinical style and invite your intuition as a potential source of wisdom for your work.

I welcome explorations of safe and effective use of self, or who you are as a human in your clinical work. I support therapists to integrate antioppressive practice into your work. Together we can explore ways power and privilege impact the therapeutic relationship, identify intersectionality of your social location and those of your clients, hold awareness for the ways our current society privileges some and disempowers others, and humbly consider ways we participate in these oppressive systems. Uncover ways we can work to dismantle oppression to promote justice in who we are as humans, as therapists, and in our wider profession.

For experienced therapists who are looking to connect clinically, I also provide clinical consultation. I feel privileged that therapists often choose to continue to work together after their accreditation needs are complete.

Group Supervision for Therapists

In Group Supervision we cocreate safety and vulnerable together. In a community of 3-6 therapists, you will be supported to deepen your own unique clinical style. Outdoor group clinical supervision is available. Be part of experiencing the magic of meeting as a group in the beautiful outdoors, of building community together with the presence of the earth. For therapists throughout Ontario, virtual meetings enable us to connect together to build community and nature connective practices online. If you have little or no ecotherapy experience and are looking to build this approach into your practice, or if you are an experienced ecotherapist and are wanting to deepen your practice and connection with community, all are welcome. Our time together counts towards CRPO and CACFT hours. Space is currently available, so feel free to reach out.

PRONOUNS: SHE/HER

I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist, and an Approved Supervisor & Supervisor Mentor with the Canadian Association for Couple and Family Therapy (CACFT).

In addition to my clinical training and experience, my specialty is including nature in my work. That could be outdoor therapy sessions walking together and pausing to attune to the earth, meeting virtually to address eco anxiety concerns, or having a phone session while walking in a forest. I have been providing clinical supervision to therapists for approximately 20 years. I bring warmth, intelligence, open-mindedness, and creativity into my work. I am an outdoor enthusiast and a proud mom of two children.

Therapy Services

Outdoor Therapy

Integrating the calm and restorative presence of the natural world into our therapy conversations can bring peace, perspective, and can illuminate how interconnected we all are. Outdoor sessions allow us to stroll through forests, sit in the presence of a river, or even x-country ski!

Virtual & Phone Therapy

Phone sessions can enable you to get out to a local trail and integrate the healing presence of nature in our conversations. Virtual sessions are a space to explore how themes in your personal life are impacted by the wider systems we are a part of, and how your own healing sends ripples out to all of the earth.

Couples Therapy

Support for couples to open healing conversations, to reconnect, and to strengthen your bond together. Sessions can take place outdoors to support your connection together and with the natural world.

Family Therapy

Intentional space to have brave conversations together, to realign shared values, and to strengthen your relationships together. Outdoor sessions can integrate a sense of openness, creativity, and playfulness. Adult families as well as families with children and youth are welcome.
