Nature’s Energy in Winter

To restore ourselves, many of us are drawn outdoors into natural spaces where we can breathe a little deeper and feel a little lighter. The calm and quiet of nature often helps us slow our thoughts and gently settle our nervous system.

Recently, I have been paying closer attention to how different landscapes carry different kinds of energy.

With the deep freeze this season, rivers that are usually so enchanting have become frozen over. I have noticed that simply being near them is still energizing, but it feels different than when the water is flowing and you can hear the bubbling melody of movement and life.

In these winter months, the presence of the sun brings such an immediate burst of joy. And sparkling snow carries its own kind of soft excitement, a reminder that even in stillness, nature offers beauty and renewal.

What natural spaces lift you up the most?

Sincerely,

Melissa
